Spring Break Art Camp March 30th - April 2nd 2015
The theme of the Spring Break Art Camp was Woodland Fairies. Kids made fairy houses, transportation, services, and the fairies themselves, an ogre mine, waterfall, rivers, roads, and crowns for themselves over the course of 1 fun-filled creative week at the Onslow Pines Park.
February 16 Art Camp
Painted chairs for Chair-ity was the featured project at the Feb 16 Art Camp at Onslow Pines Park. Students learned to work as a team on a chair, they created paper beads for bracelets and necklaces, the minion snack jars were definitely one-of-a-kind, mosaics using egg shells glistened with metallic paint, the origami dragonfly took on different colors using magazine pages, and the stories written by the students about their day was enlightening.
The wonderful volunteers that made this Art Camp a success beginning with the donation of chairs from Nadine Miller & Nancy Lloyd, the set up by Andrei Yournet and Rhonda Hallet. During the full day we had very patient and caring volunteers: Adriana and Euphony(sp?) along with Brook and Brianna. Rhonda Hallet did an amazing job with opening exercise and kept the ball rolling with filler projects during the day. She mastered the origami dragonfly -- that saved the afternoon along with writing a story about their day. Great job.
The painted chairs will be sealed with Polyacrlyclic and then delivered to the Arts Council for the fund raiser Chair-ity which takes place on April 18 during Art Block
Look forward to seeing you all again
